A happy birthday party! I brought her home to this little house twenty years ago!

Now...what you can't see is the part of her birthday cake that isn't so pretty! I don't know what it is about this girl's birthday cakes, but for the past three years, the cakes I have made for her have not been so successful. One year, she'd asked for a carrot cake. I had used the same recipe I used when I won a baking contest. It fell....badly. The next year, she asked for a cheesecake. It was a mess. I think it burned. This year, she wanted a marble pudding cake. I had just made a HUGE marble cake in March for Quincy's birthday party. It was great. Amanda wanted pudding in between the layers of her cake. It slid off the stand and crashed in big crumbs all over the kitchen floor. We ended up using the two lower layers that didn't hit the floor. It's a good thing she is such a good sport!

Dear Ryan,

It seems like only yesterday, I walked you into your Kindergarten classroom and turned to walk home with big tears in my eyes. Now just look at you! Wearing your red mortarboard and gown and tassel, you look so handsome and so grown-up. You did it, Hunny! You completed high school!

I was so filled with emotion this morning, that I started crying even driving into the parking lot at the school.

I love you and I am so proud of you!

Now go get a job!!!!

XOXO
Love,
Mom

One of my favorite things....leisurely coffee with my man. This was a coffee tag I created with my cell phone.

Quincy graduated from preschool. To celebrate, there was a picnic....a school-wide picnic! There were bounce houses and lots of laughter! Each family brought their own food and blankets. It started out warm and bright, but the rain blew in after we had eaten our lunch.

Rob arrived home on his mid-tour leave from Iraq. quincy couldn't resist rubbing his Daddy's head. There were tornado warnings that evening so we sat here for a little over an hour waiting for the bags to be released from the aircraft.
